NEPSE falls by 5.87 points after rising consecutively for past eight days



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has lost nominal 5.87 points on Thursday after the market saw upward trend for the past eight days.

The index that opened at 2052.95 points at the start of trading hours today (Thursday) made an intraday low of 2,038.33, intraday high of 2,066.07, and ultimately closed at 2,044.72 points.

A total of 3,908,395 shares of 225 companies traded hands via 27,522 transactions resulting in daily turnover of 1.64 billion. The turnover the preceding day was Rs 1.73 billion.

Shares of Shivam Cements Limited, NIC Asia Bank Limited and Nepal Reinsurance Company traded the most today.

Similarly, Central Finance Company Limited turned out to be the highest gainer in the market today with its share price rising by 3.16% followed by Janautthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bittya Sanstha Limited.

Likewise, 12% ICFC Finance Limited Debenture 2083 became the top loser for today with loss of 6.71%, followed by Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited at second place with 5.35% loss.

Only two subindices closed green, “Others” gained the highest 1.09% while “Trading” lost the highest 1.58%.
