WHO Director General arrives in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday on a three-day Nepal visit. He came to Nepal from India.

He is in Nepal at the invitation of Minister of Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of WHO South-East Asia Region Dr. Poonam Kshetrapal Singh and other WHO officials have accompanied the WHO Director General to Nepal.

During his visit to Nepal, Director General Ghebreyesus is scheduled to hold courtesy meetings with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timalsina.

He will also meet Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka and Health and Population Minister Birodh Khatiwada.
