NC President Deuba registers nomination for PP leader



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) Sher Bahadur Deuba registered his nomination for the election to the post of parliamentary party leader of Nepali Congress.

PM Deuba reached the office of the parliamentary party at Singha Durbar and registered his nomination for the post.

Party senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel proposed Deuba’s name for the post seconded by party leader Purna Bahadur Khadka.

Meanwhile, party General Secretary Gagan Thapa also registered his candidacy for the leader of the parliamentary party.

Thapa’s supporters include Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Dhanraj Gurung, Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Pradeep Paudel.

Voting for the leader of the parliamentary party will be held on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

A total of 89 NC Members of Parliament will vote in the election for the leader of the parliamentary party.

The winner should garner 51 percent or 45 votes.
