UML holding meeting of newly-elected MPs today



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has called a meeting of its newly-elected members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly, and the candidates under the first-past-the-post electoral system today.

Newly-elected members would be given training on parliamentary roles, according to the party.

The newly-elected MPs would be made aware of the party’s roles in the Federal Parliament and Province Assembly, it said.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and other top leaders are scheduled to address the gathering.

In the recently-held elections, UML won 44 seats under the direct electoral system in the HoR and 34 under proportional representation.

Likewise, the party won 91 seats under the direct and 70 under the proportional representation system in the Province Assembly.
