KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has finalized office bearers and proposed Dev Gurung as the party’s general secretary.
At the Standing Committee meeting of the party held at the party’s headquarter in Parisdanda on Saturday, Chairman Prachanda nominated Narayan Kaji Shrestha as senior vice chairman, Krishna Bahadur Mahara as vice chairman and Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Barsha Man Pun, Haribol Gajurel, Pampha Bhusal, Janardan Sharma, Shakti Basnet and Matrika Yadav as the party’s deputy general secretaries.
Similarly, Dinanath Sharma, Chakrapani Khanal, Devendra Paudel, Lila Mani Pokharel, Ganesh Shah, Hitman Shakya, Hitaraj Pandey, Dilaram Acharya and Ram Karki have been named as the party’s secretaries.
According to a Standing Committee member, Prachanda proposed Shree Ram Dhakal as the party’s treasurer.
The party had not elected office-bearers despite completing the general convention at the start of January.
It completed 41-strong standing committee only on Wednesday. Chairman Prachanda read out the names in the party’s meeting on Wednesday.
