NC wins mayor, UML deputy mayor in Bhimeshwor municipality



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate has won the post of mayor of Bhimeshwor municipality in Dolakha district.

Similarly, CPN-UML candidate has been elected as the deputy mayor. Ishwarnath Manandhar of the NC has been elected as the mayoral candidate of Bhimeshwar municipality from the alliance.

Madhanandhar won by getting 8,723 votes. He defeated his UML rival Haribansh Chaulagain by a margin of 1,422 votes. Manandhar had received 7,301 votes.

Similarly, UML has defeated the candidate of CPN (Maoist Center) from the alliance. UML deputy mayoral candidate Kamala Basnet has won with 7,264 votes. His nearest rival Unified Socialist candidate Sangita Tamang got 6,921 votes.

In the local level election held in 2074 BS, Bharat KC of UML had elected as the mayor of Bhimeshwor municipality by defeating NC candidate Ishwar Nath Manandhar.
