KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that his party does not need the support of a political party to contest the local election.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he said that the Nepali Congress can contest the local elections on its own.

He said that even if Congress fought the election alone, it can garner a majority.

Stating that 3.6 million new voters have been added, he said that Congress would be weakened if the new voters were not allowed to vote for the party.
