Maoist Center to vote against MCC, says Chair Prachanda

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the Maoists are against the United States grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) after the agreement was tabled in the parliament.

After the government tabled the MCC agreement in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, Prachanda, via Facebook later in the day, remarked that MCC was presented amidst dispute and protests.

“Amid dispute and protests, the government tabled MCC agreement,” he wrote on Facebook, adding, “Maoist Center and parliamentary party have already made clear our opposition to MCC.”

He also protested the use of police force against demonstrators hitting streets against MCC.
