KATHMANDU: General Secretary of Nepali Congress and Member of Parliament Gagan Thapa has asked CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal to dare declare UML Chairman KP Oli a traitor first as Oli-led government had taken the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) proposal to parliament in 2019.

Lauding the decision to take MCC to parliament NC General Secretary Thapa remarked that there was no point making unnecessary fuss about the US grant as the sovereign parliament would make necessary decisions ahead.

“The government’s proposal to take US grant MCC to parliament for discussion and ratification has been tabled today, this decision was made during then Nepal Communist Party Chairman Oli-led government,” NC lawmaker Thapa said, adding, “If Rawal thinks its traitorous he should dare to call his leaders including then PM Oli, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’,  and Madhav Kumar Nepal traitors first.”

He said that the issue of whether there would be discussion in the midst of UML obstructions is also over from today as UML leaders also took part in general discussion today.

NC General Secretary Thapa further added that the parliament will discuss on the grant from February 24 onwards.
