Speaker Sapkota holding BAC meeting prior to HoR meeting

KATHMANDU: A Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting is taking place prior to the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has called a BAC meeting to set agenda items for the HoR meeting.

The BAC meeting will dwell on the agenda items for the meeting, said Shreedhar Neupane, the press advisor to Speaker Sapkota.

A HoR meeting has been scheduled for 1 pm.

It has not yet been certain whether the MCC will be tabled in the parliament meeting today.

However, main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have agreed to table the MCC in the parliament.

The Unified Socialist in a Standing Committee (SC) meeting on Saturday decided to table it in the parliament with some amendments to it.

Another ruling coalition partner CPN (Maoist Center), however, is not positive about this issue. It has already decided that it would quit the government if the MCC was tabled without the consent of the ruling coalition.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of the ruling coalition for 10 am today. Deuba wants to table it with the consent of the coalition partners as far as possible.
