TU, PSC postpone exams until further notice



KATHMANDU: The Public Service Commission (PSC) and Tribhuvan University have postponed written examinations in the wake of increasing coronavirus infections.

PSC Information Officer Devi Prasad Subedi said a meeting of PSC held Thursday decided to put off the written examinations from January 25 to February 12. The examination for the post of undersecretary was slated to start on January 25. Various other examinations were also to take place between January end to mid-February. All the exams have been postponed.

PSC informed that it would conduct the postponed exams later by rescheduling them and by providing information seven days in advance. PSC postponed exams after many of its staffers contracted COVID19 along with the soaring cases in the country.

Meanwhile, Tribhuvan University also postponed all the examinations being held under the annual and semester systems. However, the entrance exams of Friday and Saturday would be held as per schedule, said the university.

The university’s Controller of Examinations Pushparaj Joshi said, “Tomorrow and Saturday’s entrance examination will be held. We have decided to postpone other exams until further notice.”
