NEPSE increases by double digits Thursday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has increased by double digits on the last trading day of the week Thursday.

The market, which saw a downfall on Wednesday, rose by 33.03 points on Thursday and closed at 2931.34 points.

Albeit, the transaction amount today decreased by 250 million compared to Wednesday. The total transaction amount totaled only Rs 5.77 billion against Wednesday’s Rs 6.2 billion.

A total of 1,59,89,744 shares of 229 companies were traded in the secondary market today. All the sectors, except banking and mutual funds, closed green Thursday.

IME General Insurance Company became the most traded stock in the market today, recording a trade turnover of over Rs 220 million.

The share price of Mailungkhola and Tehrathum Power Company were traded on a circuit level of 10 percent. Hydropower investors gained the most profits and the price of ICFC Finance Company’s debenture fell 4 points today.
