Two, including policeman, arrested for attempted kidnapping in Baglung



BAGLUNG: The District Police Office, Baglung, has apprehended two people on the charge of their involvement in the attempted kidnapping of a girl.

Among the accused, one is a policeman. The office identified them as Shankar Acharya and Bhagawati Chhetri, 36, of Jaimini municipality-7 in the district. Acharya is a police person.

They are alleged of trying to abduct a six-year-old daughter of Sapana Thapa of Dhading, currently residing at Ramrekha of Baglung municipality-1.

The two are accused of forcibly picking up the girl from Hallanchowk of Baglung-2 and trying to take her towards Buddha Bihar on a motor vehicle. The pair were noticed by locals and security personnel and were intervened.

According to a witness Rudra Mahat, the two used swearwords against the people who reached them to stop from moving ahead.

The girl’s mother said she was at her office and her spouse was out of their residence to buy vegetables when her daughter was picked by the two.

Locals have demanded an investigation on the matter and a stern action against the two if found guilty.

Office information officer Indra Bahadur Rana said they are investigating the incident to find whether the case was of kidnapping.

The police personnel was also found drunk at the time of arrest, he added.
