IRC to draw PM’s attention towards his absence at today’s meeting

KATHMANDU: The International Relations Committee (IRC) of the House of Representatives (HoR) has decided to draw the attention of the Prime Minister towards his absence at Sunday’s meeting.

The parliamentary panel had summoned Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to its meeting on Sunday – where the PM was expected brief the committee about government’s take on US State Partnership Program (SPP) and his July visit to the US.

However, PM Deuba’s Secretariat, at the eleventh hour, had notified the IRC that the prime minister would not be able to attend the meeting on Sunday.

The IRC has decided to draw the attention of the Prime Minister towards furnishing the reason of his absence before the panel.

Nepali Congress (NC) lawmakers in the IRC, meanwhile, opposed the panel’s decision.
