NID official dies after being hit by a tree branch



KATHMANDU: An employee of the National Investigation Department (NID) has died after a tree branch snapped off inside Singha Durbar.

According to SP Dinesh Raj Mainali of the District Police Office, Kathmandu, Bijaya Karki died after a tree branch in the compound of the intelligence office inside Singha Durbar broke due to strong winds on Wednesday night.

Karki, 27, of Palpa was seriously injured when he was hit by a tree branch. He was rushed to New Baneshwor Civil Hospital for treatment.

He died at 11 pm while undergoing treatment, said police.
