Ruling coalition meeting positive, next meeting to be held at 10 pm



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the ruling coalition has been postponed till 10 pm today.

According to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gynendra Bahadur Karki, the meeting of the coalition, which has been going ahead affirmatively, is most likely to announce the agreement on electoral alliance tonight.

“The meeting is going on positively, the power-sharing and seat sharing for the upcoming local elections is close to consensus,” he said, adding, “The formal declaration is likely to come tonight.”

According to Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Govinda Pariyar, the next meeting of the coalition will be held at 10 pm tonight.

However, government spokesman Karki responded by saying the meeting was ongoing.

Although there is a broad consensus on the issue of metropolis, the issue of sub-metropolis is still to be settled, a participant of the meeting said.

The meeting of the coalition was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar from 3 pm today as no agreement could be reached on Monday.
