Meeting of ruling coalition starts in Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling coalition has started at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Tuesday afternoon.

The meeting is expected to finalize the distribution of metropolises and sub-metropolises among coalition partners for the upcoming local-level election.

Prime Minister’s Press Advisor Govinda Pariyar said that the meeting began at 3 pm at PM’s official residence in Baluwatar and all the top leaders of the coalition were attending the meeting.

The meeting initially called for 11 am today had been deferred till 3 pm after the Nepali Congress requested for the same.

The ruling coalition had met twice on Monday to settle the issue of seat-sharing in six metropolises and 11 sub-metropolises of the country for the May 13 local election.

Though ruling coalition partners had pledged to finalize the issue by Monday itself, no agreement had been reached.

The ongoing meeting is the continuation of talks among coalition partners since Sunday.
