Manakamana Temple to remain closed from Friday



GORKHA: The Manakamana Area Development Committee has decided to ban the entry into Manakamana temple.

A meeting of stakeholders held on Tuesday took a decision to this effect starting Friday to mid-January as the corona infection is spreading rapidly.

Chairman of the Manakamana Area Development Committee, Ram Kumar Joshi, informed that it has been decided to ban the other rituals besides regular worship during this period.

Similarly, religious activities such as sacrificial offerings and burning of candles in the temple are also prohibited.

Over 5,000 devotees visit Manakamana Temple on a daily basis, according to Insan Bahadur Thapa, the main priest of the temple.
