Gandaki Province wins first gold medal in bodybuilding



KATHMANDU: Gandaki Province has won the first gold medal in bodybuilding under the Ninth National Games.

Bibek Hamal of Gandaki clinched gold medal in the 55 kg weight category towards bodybuilding championship held at City Hall, Pokhara.

Similarly, Dinesh Gosain of Bagmati Province and Ramesh Phombo of Nepali Army got silver and bronze medals in the championship respectively.

The winner was selected from five people selected from free-judge round for the gold medal.

Bibek Hamal of Gandaki, Dinesh Gosain of Bagmati Province, Tej Bahadur Hamal of Nepal Police, Kapil Gautam of APF and Ramesh Phombo of Tribhuvan Army Club were selected from free-judge.

Similarly, David Balami of Nepal Police clinched gold medal in the 60 kg weight category while Kisan Dewakar of APF and Sunil Ale of Lumbini Province won silver and bronze medals respectively.

There would be competition for 11 gold medals in all categories of men and women in bodybuilding.
