Case filed against Under Secretary of Tourism Ministry



KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against Under Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Pramod Nepal at the special court on Sunday.

The CIAA has apprehended Under Secretary Nepal red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 600,000 from a service recipient.

The CIAA has demanded a fine of the same amount and imprisonment accordingly.

It has also demanded the confiscation of Rs 1.6 million said to have been recovered from the vehicle of Under Secretary Nepal.

Alleging that Shrestha, the chief executive officer of BB Airways, also tried to influence government employees by giving bribes, the Commission demanded action in pursuant to the Corruption Prevention Act.
