KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center is getting close to finalize office bearers of the party.
Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who has the sole authority to pick office bearers, is in mood to nominate leaders Dinanath Sharma, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Ganesh Sah, Pampha Bhusal and Haribol Gajurel as vice chairpersons of the party, a source said.
Prachanda has already delegated the responsibility of senior vice chair to leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
The Standing Committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist Center that started on Wednesday held discussions on nomination/endorsement of office bearers.
The party is to hold a meeting to finalize office bearers by Thursday evening, however, the meeting is yet to take place.
Prachanda is to make official nominations for office bearers in the meeting to be held likely later.
According to Maoist sources, Dev Gurung is certain to become the general secretary.
Girirajmani Pokharel along with the Contenders of general secretary post Barshman Pun and Janardan Sharma are to become deputy general secretary.
