Besisahar-Chame road obstructed

BESISAHAR: The Besisahar-Chame road has been blocked again due to landslides.

The road had come into operation on Friday afternoon but was blocked again this morning due to a landslide on the Kharkhare Bhir in Besisahar Municipality-6.

As a result, passengers have been stranded since the morning, said Inspector and Information Officer at the District Police Office, Lamjung, Jagdish Regmi.

The landslide was triggered by rainfall. It has become a regular affair, as landslides occur even with light rainfall. Landslide has also blocked the road near Belauti Bisna of the same ward.

The Dumre-Besisahar-Chame Road Project Office Lamjung has started clearing the landslide debris. But it is uncertain how long it will take, police said. The Besisahar-Chame Road is the only road connecting Lamjung and Manang districts.
