RPP wins chair, vice-chair in Haldibari RM

JHAPA: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate Rabindra Lingden has been re-elected the chairperson of Haldibari Rural Municipality.

He defeated CPN-UML’s Dambar Giri by a vote margin of 1,190. Lingden received a total of 6,856 votes while his close contender Giri got 4,666. UML’s Giri was the immediate past chair of the rural municipality.

Likewise, NC candidate for chairperson Tulasi Prasad Oli secured 2,758 and Maoist Centre’s Bhawani Prasad Dangal received 1,149 votes.

Similarly, Laxmidevi Mainali of RPP has been elected the vice-chairperson of the rural municipality.

Mainali got 5,078 votes to become the vice-chair while her close contender Shanti Devi Gautam of CPN-UML got 4,106 votes.

Rebel candidate from Nepali Congress Lakhan Hemram secured 3,700 votes.

RPP has won chair, vice-chair, two ward chairs and 11 members in the rural municipality.
