Balen still leading in Kathmandu Metropolis; Sthapit following

KATHMANDU: The counting of votes is underway in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

According to the latest results, independent candidate Balen Shah has maintained his lead with 13,761 votes. His closest rival CPN-UML’s Keshav Sthapit has got 7,377 votes as of Wednesday morning.

Similarly, Nepali Congress candidate Sirjana Singh got 6,535 votes.

UML’s Sunita Dangol is leading with 9,421 votes for the deputy mayor’s post.

As of writing, the counting of votes in wards 1 and 2 of Kathmandu metropolis has been completed. CPN-UML candidate has won in both wards.
