KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank is going to sell treasury bills worth Rs 10.20 billion.
The bank is about to sell treasury bills worth Rs 5.20 billion for a period of 91 days. The treasury bill will mature on July 19. Similarly, the bank has started selling treasury bills worth Rs 5 billion for a period of 182 days. The said treasury bill will mature on October 18.
According to NRB, the treasury bill will be auctioned today (Monday, April 18) at 3 pm and will be sold on Tuesday, April 19.
What is a treasury bill?
Treasury bills are short-term government bonds used to raise internal debt for a period of one year or less. There are four types of treasury bills: 28 days, 91 days, 182 days and 364 days.
NRB had earlier issued all four types of bills; however, this time it is issuing only 91 days and 182 days bills.
