EC to register candidates for local level election on April 24 and 25



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has fixed the dates for filing nominations in the upcoming local level.

An election program approved by the Election Commission (EC) on Friday has fixed two days for registration of candidates in the local election. Accordingly, candidature registration would be held on April 24 and 25.

Also, the final name of candidates would be published on April 28 after completing procedures such as registration of complaint and necessary investigation.

Similarly, candidates will be given a day to withdraw their candidatures on April 29 and the final list of candidates would be published after office hours the same day.

The local level election is slated for May 13 and voting would take place on the day from 8 am to 5 pm.

The election code of conduct will come into force on May 10 — 48 hours prior to the Election Day.
