District attorney demands 14 years imprisonment against Paul Shah

KATHMANDU: Nawalpur District Attorney’s office has filed a rape case against Nepali film hero Paul Shah in Nawalpur District Court on Thursday.

Based on a police investigation report, the district attorney filed a lawsuit alleging that Paul raped a minor . It has demanded 14 years imprisonment against the Actor.

A 17-year-old singer had lodged a complaint against Actor Shah at the District Police Office, Tanahu and Area Police Office, Gaindakot alleging that she had been raped.

Rape alleged Shah has been in police custody after the police took him in remand first for seven days and later for additional 12 days.

Chief of the District Police Office, Nawalpur, SP Prajwal Maharjan affirmed that a case has been filed in the court after gathering various evidences against Shah.

An FIR was lodged alleging that Paul had raped her while she was in a resort in Gaindakot during a suiting on March 20, 2021. After the same complaint, the police had started the investigation process.

In case of rape, the police can keep the alleged in custody for a maximum of 25 days and investigate further on the issue. The case against rape accused Shah will also be filed in Tanahun. SP Maharjan informed that various evidences have been gathered.

SP Maharjan said that the evidences have been sent to the forensic labs for further verification.

However, actor Shah denied the allegation of rape against him in Gaindakot. He claimed that the allegations against him are false.
