National Convention of Chepang Association kicks off



CHITWAN: The Fifth National Convention of Nepal Chepang Association has started in Chitwan.

Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Government Rajendra Pandey inaugurated the National Convention on Thursday.

Inaugurating the event, Chief Minister Pandey called for the promotion of Chepang community by identifying their real issues from the federal, province and local governments.

The closed-door session of the National Convention is starting today. The National Convention is scheduled to select its 35-member new working committee.

As per the statute, the Association will elect chairperson, senior vice-chair, vice-chair and treasurer, and two secretaries.

The organiser said a total of 257 representatives from Chitwan, Makawanpur, Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahun and Lamjung are taking part in the National Convention.
