Meeting of ruling coalition underway at Baluwatar

High-level political coordination committee discussing contemporary issues

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling coalition is underway at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting of the high-level political coordination committee is holding discussions on the possibility of alliance in the National Assembly election and ending the stalemate in the parliament.

The meeting is also discussing contemporary issues, a Baluwatar source said

The main opposition in the Parliament, CPN-UML, has been continuously obstructing the House proceedings alleging Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota for being biased.

Despite the Election Commission’s recommendation to announce the date of local elections, the government has not announced the dates.

Party top leaders, including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, and Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal are also participating in the meeting, Baluwatar sources said.

On Monday, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” held a discussion on contemporary political issues.
