NC President Deuba asks MPs to play effective role in parliament
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the newly-elected members of the parliament from NC to play active and effective role in the new parliament.
At a program organized at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar, to congratulate and greet the newly-elected member of the parliament from NC, he directed the elected members to play effective role in the parliament, shared Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.
NC will lead the new govt
Nepali Congress (NC) spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has claimed that NC will lead the new government as the largest party in the coalition.
Speaking to media in Baluwatar on Saturday, Spokesperson Mahat said that NC would obviously claim the formation of the government.
“NC is the largest party in Parliament. Even in the coalition, we have the status of the largest party by a wide margin. Therefore, NC will lead the new government,” he said, adding, “It is natural for CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to claim for the post as well, yet we are hopeful he will support NC’s premiership.”
Local govt should be more transparent and result-oriented: PM Deuba
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that local government should be more result-oriented, transparent and accountable to the public.
Speaking at a program organized to mark 104th Foundation Day of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, PM Deuba remarked that the people’s expectation from the local levels are related to the substantive changes in their lifestyle.
NC-led government should deliver newness: Gagan Thapa
Nepali Congress (NC) general-secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said the government to be formed under NC leadership should be capable of delivering newness to live up to the people’s aspirations.

Human Rights Film Festival to be held from tomorrow
The 10th edition of ‘Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival’ is going to be held from December 18 to 21.
The festival is being organized by the Human Rights Film Center with the objective of promoting social justice and human rights.
The festival is being held under the theme of ‘Climate Change and Environmental Justice’.

Ministry of Health postpones COVID-19 vaccine import
With the decreasing cases of coronavirus infection in the country of late, the import of vaccine against coronavirus has stopped.
The vaccine has not been brought for the past three months as there is a stock of vaccine against coronavirus following the sharp decline in coronavirus infection, said Chief of Department of Health Services Supply Management Section, Dr Surendra Chaurasiya.
