Meeting of ruling coalition’s task force underway in Baluwatar

Sitaula likely to submit seat allocation draft

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the five-party ruling coalition’s task force formed to allocate seats for the November 20 elections has begun at the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s official residence in Baluwatar.

A meeting of the task force held earlier had entrusted the responsibility of presenting the draft of the electoral seat allocation to Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

The task force has prepared the draft based on the local elections held in June, the first-past-the-post and proportional representation of the House of Representatives of 2074 BS, and the current representation of the parties in the Parliament.

The task force had been instructed to submit a report as soon as possible.
