NC Gen Sec Bishwa Prakash to contest elections from Jhapa, not Kathmandu as rumored

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said that he would contest the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) from his home-district Jhapa.

In a tweet on Wednesday morning, Sharma said that although there has been a talk that he would contest the election from Kathmandu-5, Sharma said he would file his candidacy in Jhapa, where he finds love.

Sharma has written” “Met me clarify. I worship the shores of Bagmati. But I belong to the shores of Mechi and Ninda rivers.”

In the 2074 BS elections, Sharma contested from Jhapa Constituency No-1 but was defeated by Maoist leader Ram Karki.

While Karki got 36,173 votes, Sharma garnered 33,310 votes.
