KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is on a three-day visit to India, is returning back home without holding talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier, Prachanda’s daughter Ganga had told that Prachanda would meet Indian PM Modi before returning to Kathmandu.

Prachanda himself had said he would be meeting Modi on Friday, prior to his departure to India from Tribhuvan International Airport.

According to sources, Dahal and his entourage have already reached Indira Gandhi International Airport to fly back to Kathmandu after getting the message from Indian leaders.

Addressing an event in New Delhi on Saturday, Dahal had said the Nepal-India relation has to be reviewed by accepting the report prepared by the Eminent People’s Group (EPG). He had also raised the issue of the 1950 treaty between Nepal and India.

However, it is not clear why the planned meeting between the Maoist Center chair and Modi couldn’t take place.

It was said that Dahal would hold meeting with Modi right after meeting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Jagat Prakash Nadda.

However, the Maoist Center chairman is on his way back home without meeting PM Modi.
