Seven NEA employees arrested on charge of beating up RSS journalist Acharya



CHITWAN: The Chitwan police have arrested seven employees of the Bharatpur distribution center, Nepal Electricity Authority on the charge of beating up Rastriya Samachar Samiti Chitwan correspondent Krishna Acharya.

Acharya got thrashed allegedly by the NEA employees under the influence of alcohol when the former had reached the NEA office to cover news about a drinks reception being reportedly organized on the premises of the NEA office on Friday, it has been said.

The arrestees are the electrical supervisor at the center, Aananda Bahadur Kunwar and Dibachha Shah, senior meter reader Hemanta Dhakal, electrician Tulasi Devkota, and accountant Manjil Man Shrestha, meter reader Hemshankar Chaudhary and accountant Hari Paudel. A case against the arrestees would be filed, said Narahari Adhikari, spokesperson for the district police office.

Acharya has got hand injuries and his clothes torn in the incident- said the police. The assaulters had also seized two mobile phones belonging to Acharya.
