NEPSE declines by 84.90 points on first trading day after local polls



KATHMANDU: Trading for the first time after the local elections, Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined sharply on Tuesday.

The stock market lost 84.90 points to close at 2,265.52 points following the local elections.

NEPSE index had risen two days consecutively before the election.

The total turnover shrank to Rs 1.64 billion as the market slumped. All sub-indicies closed red registered record losses.

As many as 3,595,568 units of shares of 221 companies were traded via 33,610 transactions on Tuesday.
