Maoist Center wins chair and vice-chair in Sunapati municipality



RAMECHHAP: CPN-Maoist candidates have been elected to the posts of chairman and vice-chairman of Sunapati rural municipality of the Ramechhap district.

Thulo Kanchha Tamang and Geeta Bista, who have become candidates for the post of chairperson and vice-chairperson from the Maoist Center, have been elected.

Tamang won the elections with 5,398 votes. His nearest rival Kaman Khadka of the Nepali Congress (NC) polled 4,851 votes.

Similarly, Gita Bista won the post of vice-chairperson from the Maoist Center by getting 5,360 votes. Her nearest rival Shanti Moktan of the Nepali Congress polled 5,068 votes.

Similarly, Dhruba Chaulagain of Nepali Congress has been elected as chairman in ward no. 1 while Padma Bahadur Thapa, Chitra Bahadur Manandhar, Kul Bahadur Thing, and Dandup Lama of the Maoist Center have been elected as ward chairs of ward 2,3,4 and 5.
