JSP wins chair in Dhanusha’s Janaknandani



KATHMANDU: Dipin Dev Yadav of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has secured the post of chairman of Janaknandani rural municipality of Dhanusha district by obtaining 3,158 votes.

His rival Sudesh Kumar Chaudhary of the Nepali Congress polled 2,778 votes, according to official Thulobabu Dahal.

Similarly, Kamala Sehgal of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected as the Vice Chairperson with 2,998 votes. Her closest rival Geeta Sudi of JSP got 2,840 votes.

There were a total of 16,633 voters in the rural municipality which has six wards.

Out of them, 11,630 people had cast their votes in the local level election held on May 13.

Meanwhile, NC’s Suresh Jha has been elected as the ward chairman of

Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitanCity-4 with 833 votes while UML’s Bechan Sah has won the ward chairman of ward no. 5 with 291 votes.
