Ninth National Games to be held from June 5 in Pokhara

POKHARA: The government has decided to organize the Ninth National Games from June 5 to 11 in Pokhara.

The recent meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to hold the ninth edition of the National Games in Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki province.

With the finalization of the date of the competition, the concerned bodies have initiated the necessary preliminary preparations.

Authorities have started upgrading the sports infrastructure.

Rajesh Kumar Gurung, a member of the National Sports Council, said that at least one game has been proposed in all the 11 districts of the state through the Regional Sports Development Committee.

Prior to the national sports program, programs including closed training along with player selection competitions in 77 districts of the country and all the states have to be taken forward.

Member Gurung informed that at least 36 games have been proposed for the competition.
