KARNALI: Karnali Province Chief Tilak Pariyar has said Holi, the festival of colors, has been a contribution to further strengthening of cultural ties in the society.

Extending his best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad including the Karnali folks on the occasion of Holi (Phagu poornima) today, the Province Chief described Holi as one of the prominent festivals in the Nepalese society featuring cultural diversities.

“The festival reflects the unique identity and presence of the Hindu civilisation.”

As he hoped, the festival would, besides its joyous feature, contribute to further strengthening social goodwill, tolerance and national unity among the Nepali community.

Meantime, Madhesh Province Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut expressed his hope that the Holi festival would play a role for further consolidating social bonding and goodwill.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of the festival today, the Chief Minister wished the entire Nepali community peace, prosperity, happiness and longevity.

He also extended his best wishes specifically to the people of Madhesh Province and the participants of the historic Mithilamadhya Parikrama, the annual circumambulation of the religious Mithila circuit which is observed two weeks before the Holi.

Holi, the annual festival of Hindus, is celebrated today in the hilly region while the southern plains will observe it tomorrow.
