Stock market rises by 20 points on Monday

Witnesses the turnover of Rs 7.90 billion



KATHMANDU: The uptrend of NEPSE has continued on Monday, the second trading day of the month of Magh.

NEPSE, which had increased by 69 points on the previous day, has also increased by 20.64 points and reached 2947.38 points today.

The Sensitive Index also increased by 3.70 points to reach 546.33 points.

A total of 1,44,74,713 shares were bought and sold in 96,408 transactions of 224 companies, bringing the total turnover to Rs 7.90 billion this Monday.

Of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE today, the indices of five groups declined when the indices of the remaining eight groups increased.

The index of commercial bank group increased by 19.46 points and rose to 192.56 points and the index of life insurance group also increased by 80.27 points and reached 16,613.42 points.

Similarly,the index of non-life insurance group also increased by 50.41 points to reach 13,385.11 points.

The indices of hydropower, hotel and tourism, manufacturing, collective investment fund and other groups also witnessed a surge.

However, the index of development bank group decreased by 23.33 points to reach at 5,382 points. Likewise, the index of finance, investment, microfinance and trading groups also declined.

The share price of Madhyabhotekoshi Hydropower Company rose by 10 percent to Rs 458.30 per share in NEPSE today.

Similarly, shares of Arun Valley Hydro Power Company have been traded at a final price of Rs 571.70 per share. This is one of the largest trading companies in NEPSE today.
