Tele-cardiology service kicks off in Rapti rural municipality



DANG: Now onwards patients in Rapti rural municipality in Dang district will avail medical consultation services especially about heart health through online services.

The proposed Bhalubang Hospital in ward no 1 and Sisahaniya Hospital in ward no 5 of the rural municipality launched the service in view to facilitate the patients in getting diagnosis timely and conveniently employing internet and telephone.

Prakash Bista, Chairperson of the rural municipality, shared that cardiologist Dr Suman Banjade inaugurated the service in both health facilities by remotely conducting ECG examination of a patient.

With the launch of this service, heart patients from under-privileged communities in Deukhuri area would avail specialized health services from their nearest health facility, according to Dr Banjade.

The Rural Telecardiology Program was launched in the Rapti rural municipality at its initiative and with support from Geriatric Society of Nepal.
