Alliance should remain intact for country’s prosperity: PM Deuba

Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has reiterated the need for keeping the present ruling alliance intact for long so as to prosper the country and safeguard the constitution.

The coalition was forged to avert the risk of the constitution being trampled, he said while addressing an election gathering organised at Bhageshwor Rural Municipality in his home district, Dadeldhura on Wednesday.

Ruling alliance government to continue after election: Prachanda

Chairperson of the Maoist Centreand former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the only target of the left-democratic alliance is development and prosperity.

Chairperson Dahal said it while addressing an election assembly organized by the alliance at Phungling on Wednesday.

Remittance inflow sees 17 percent rise

The country received remittances of Rs 281 billion in three months (review period) of the current fiscal year, a 17 percent rise compared to remittances inflow in the corresponding period last year.

The remittance inflow in the same period last year saw a fall of 7.9 percent compared to the previous year.

Chitwan-1 candidate Umesh Shrestha’s car vandalized during campaign

A vehicle of Umesh Shrestha, the candidate for the member of the House of Representatives of Nepali Congress from Chitwan Constituency-1, was vandalized during campaigning.

An unknown group vandalized Shrestha’s Prado car with number Ba 3 Ch 2050 while he was busy in his door-to-door campaign on Wednesday morning.

49 wild animals killed in four months in CNP

Forty-nine wild animals have died in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) in four months.

The largest number of the dead animals comprises of 28 spotted deer. Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer of the CNP, said 17 of these animals have died in attacks by dogs and one each due to road accident and getting stuck in bog.

Bomb goes off near Prachanda’s election event venue in Bhojpur

A bomb exploded near the election program venue attended by  CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal ‘Prachanda’ on Wednesday afternoon.

According to sources, a bomb carried by a person exploded near the election campaign venue at Tiwari Bhanjyang in Bhojpur, a venue where Prachanda was participating to address an election rally.
