Woman dies of dengue infection in Chitwan



CHITWAN: A woman infected with dengue died while undergoing treatment in Chitwan Medical College last Friday.

With this, death toll of dengue patients in the College has reached three.

The 29-year-old woman from Nawalparashi Bardaghat succumbed to the mosquito-borne viral infection. She was admitted to the hospital on October 10, according to the District Health Office, Chitwan.

Information Officer at the Health Office, Ram KC, shared that dengue was detected in 1,621 patients who were admitted to various hospitals in the district. Among them, 1,083 were from Chitwan district alone, he added.

The address of 203 infected ones was yet to be disclosed while 305 were from outside district, according to the District Health Office, Chitwan.

The dengue infection was detected out of 7,184 samples tested, it was shared.
