Athlete dies in accident during cross-country paragliding



POKHARA: An athlete competing in the cross country event of paragliding under the 9th National Games died in a paragliding crash on Sunday morning.

Nisim Thapa of Tribhuvan Army Club died during a demonstration at 11:30 am on Sunday morning during a competition held at Sarangkot in Pokhara Metropolis-18.

Thapa was injured when the driver of Blue Sky Company fell from a height of 100 meters to the ground in Sarangkot while flying in the cross country paragliding game was going on.

He was taken to Metro City Hospital in Pokhara for treatment. The doctor declared him dead after checking at 12:45 pm.
