17,988,570 voters for Nov 20 poll: EC



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has stated that the total number of voters in the November 20 election will be 17,988,570.

The election for the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the members of the Provincial Assembly is scheduled for November 20.

Issuing a press release on Friday, the EC unveiled the figure that there will be 8,847,579 female, 9,140,806 male and 185 other voters in the November 20 election.

The EC has approved the total number of voters.

A person is eligible to vote if the person becomes 18 years old by November 19.

Similarly, there will be 22,000 polling centers in 10,891 polling stations, according to the EC.

In terms of the number of voters in a district, Morang, Jhapa and Kathmandu have the largest number of voters whereas Manag, Mustang and Dolpa have the least number of voters.

Similarly, Bagmati Province, Province 1, and Madhes Province rank first, second and third in terms of the number of voters. Bagmati has 3,471,492 voters, Province 1 has 3,396,865 voters while Madhes Province has 3,386,865 voters.
