Consumer price of fuel to remain unchanged

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has decided not to reduce the consumer price of fuel.

Though it received reduced price of petroleum products from India on Tuesday, NOC said it has decided to keep the price unchanged due to the fact that the organization still had large debt obligations.

“We still have a lot of debt and payment arrears, so we could not adjust the price now,” said NOC Executive Director Umesh Kumar Thani.

He added that the price could be slashed in future after NOC reaches a financially strong position.
