NEPSE falls by 24.83 points on Tuesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has lost 24.83 points on Tuesday and settled at 2,041.06 points.

The index could not retain the sentiment of investors that appeared on Monday, when the market index surged by 55.88 points.

The index that opened at 2,069.38 points made an intraday high of 2,088.23, an intraday low of 2,035.47 and finally settled at 2,041.06 points today.

A total of 6,406,738 units of shares of 221 companies changed hands via 43,392 transactions, resulting in a daily turnover of Rs 2.73 billion. The turnover on Monday was Rs 2.43 billion.

The shares of Ridi Power Company Limited (RIDI) shares traded the most today and also became the most traded stocks by turnover.

Upper Hewakhola Hydropower Company Limited gained the highest 9.99 percent, technically hitting positive circuit for the day.

Meanwhile, Unilever Nepal Limited lost the highest 5.62 percent on this trading day.

All sector indices closed red, “HydroPower” lost the highest 3.18 percent while “Banking” lost the least 0.25 percent each.
