22 Nepali rugby players set to play in Bangladesh



KATHMANDU: A Rugby Game is going to be played between the Nepal and Bangladesh from June 21 to 22 at Army Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

A team of 25 from Nepal, including players ,coach, manager and a physiotherapist will leave for Bangladesh on  June 18, Saturday.

The Rugby 7s and Rugby 15s matches will be played.

Suraj Chaudhary, Sher bahadur Oli, Bikram Bharati, Roshan Gharti, Niroj Karki, Bikram Puri, Nabin Maharjan, Shree Ram Shrestha, Birat Shrestha, Bibesh Basu, Sanjib Kunwar and Prem Bahadur Koirala, among others, will represent Nepal in the matches.

Tanka Raj Giri (15s Coach), Gopal Chhetri (Manager) and Laxman Adhikari (Physiotherapist) are traveling along with the team.

The resumption of game after the COVID pandemic is a great opportunity for both the nations.

This series is expected to help strengthen the relationship and also promote the Rugby along with the players internationally, said Kamana Giri, Media Manager for Nepal Rugby.

The Nepali players are getting to play at an international ground after a long wait, hence the excitement has leveled up .
