NC wins chairperson and vice-chairperson posts in Mahabu rural municipality



DAILEKH: Nepali Congress (NC)’s candidates have secured win in chairperson and vice-chairperson posts in Mahabu rural municipality in Dailekh district.

Laxman Gurung has been elected chairperson gaining 2,979 votes against his closest contender CPN (UML)’s Hari Prasad Upadhyay.

Upadhyay got 2,519 votes, according to the Office of Election Officer. Likewise, Manju Pandey has been elected vice-chairperson with 3,155 votes.

She defeated CPN (UML)’s Durga Kumari Singh who collected 2,301 votes. NC emerged victorious in three wards in Mahabu rural municipality having six wards in total.

Similarly, CPN (Maoist Centre) candidates won in 2 wards and CPN (UML) in a ward.
