Results of 130 local levels announced so far



KATHMANDU: Results of the local level election held on May 13 in 130 local levels have been made public so far.

According to the Election Commission, the counting of votes at all local levels except where the election was halted due to various reasons is underway.

As per the details provided by the EC, a total of 13,582 candidates (including those who were already elected unopposed)– 13 mayors, 117 chairpersons, 13 deputy-mayor, 117 vice-chairpersons, 2,679 ward chairpersons, 5318 ward members, 2678 women ward members and 2,647 Dalit women members have been elected.

Responding to a query over the dillydallying in vote counting, EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that big-size ballot papers and lack of arrangement of human resources to count votes at the places including the metropolitan city where there are many voters are reasons behind it.

He further said that the EC has asked the bodies concerned to conclude the vote-counting by making further decisions.

Voting has been concluded peacefully where election took place today, added the EC. The EC has made also been making the results public on its website, result.election.gov.np where one can view the results of the vote count.
